During the 2023 Summit of the Global Office Directors in Cambridge on October 16, 2023, Vice Provost for International Affairs Mark C. Elliott established the Global Offices Committee (originally the Global Communications Committee).

The committee is dedicated to enhancing connections between the offices and the wider Harvard community and raising awareness within the Harvard community in Cambridge about their initiatives and endeavors abroad. It meets monthly to discuss communications strategies and potential future actions, brainstorm ways to highlight the offices’ international identity and connection to Harvard, and foster understanding and support for University initiatives around the world.

Following the success of the committee’s work over its first two years, in 2025, its membership was expanded to include offices from more countries around the world. The current committee members bring diverse backgrounds and experiences from various continents and offices operating under different administrative structures within the University. They are:

• Christos Giannopoulos, Executive Director, Center for Hellenic Studies’ Greece Office; chair
• Jessica McCann, Senior Communications Officer, Office of the Provost; permanent member and representative from the Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs
• Sihem Lamine, Associate Director, Center for Middle Eastern Studies’ Tunisia Office
• Helena Monteiro, Executive Director, David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies’ Brazil Office
• Nthatisi Quella, Office Director, Center for African Studies’ Africa Office
• Yi Wang, Executive Director for University Programs, Harvard Center Shanghai
