Health Reform and Community Medicine Course in Chile

The Chile course this year offers a chance to learn about an innovative health system that has been a model for several countries around the world and to observe Chile’s initiatives in primary care including an important public private partnership and the development of a family medicine approach to community health care. During the first two weeks, we will interview key actors in the health system and visit clinics and hospitals to learn about:

Harvard Medical School Exchange Clerkship Program

The Harvard Medical School (HMS) has created a special opportunity for Chilean students in their final year of studying medicine at the Universidad de Chile and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile to participate in a month-long clinical rotation (or possibly two one-month rotations) at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.

Harvard Summer School Program in Santiago, Chile

Spend a summer in Santiago, Chile learning about public health and Latin American culture while sharpening your Spanish language skills. This eight-week program gives you the unique opportunity to combine Spanish language coursework, Latin American cultural immersion, and engagement with the fields of medicine and public health through study and service.

Healthcare and Education in Rural Chile: January-term Program

The David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) Regional Office invites Harvard students to participate in the January program, DRCLAS-Universidad Mayor January Experiential Learning Program: Healthcare and Education in Rural Chile. This program is intended for Harvard undergraduate students interested in improving their Spanish language skills, while engaging in public service in rural indigenous communities.


Strengthen ties within the Latin American community inside and outside HBS, and raise the profile of Latin America on campus.

Model Congress Latin America (MCLA)

Harvard Model Congress (HMC) is a government simulation conference run entirely by Harvard students who are passionate about international relations, government, and teaching. HMC is committed to providing an immersive educational experience for high school students from across the globe this year in its inaugural conference. Since the first Harvard Model Congress Boston conference in 1986, HMC has emerged as the leading international and government simulation program for high school students.

Polinsky Language Sciences Lab

The Polinsky Language Sciences Lab examines questions of language structure and its effect on the ways in which people use and process language in real time. The lab engages in interdisciplinary research projects; offers linguistic research capabilities for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and visitors; and builds relationships with the linguistic communities worldwide in which it does its research.

Harvard College Bolivian Association

The Harvard College Bolivian Association is dedicated to expanding awareness of Bolivian culture among the Harvard community, organizing annual volunteer and cultural immersion sessions to give students an opportunity to experience Bolivia first-hand, and building relationships with contacts in Bolivia to generate dialogue with Harvard faculty, students, and community members.

Harvard College Candela Dance Troupe

Harvard Candela Dance Troupe is a student run dance group that performs Latin dance at a variety of Harvard events.
