Harvard Business School continues its efforts to build a deep understanding of and expertise in global business practice and innovation around the world, including throughout Africa, a region that is assuming an increasingly vital role in the world economy. The school opened the newest regional office, the Africa Research Office in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2017.

Creating Emerging Markets project explore the evolution of business leadership in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. At its core are interviews, many on video and by Harvard Business School faculty members, with leaders or former leaders of businesses and NGOs. These interviews, with men and women of diverse backgrounds, address pivotal moments of transition in their regions. They contain compelling insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, family business, and the globalization of firms and brands.

The overarching goal of the Harvard Gender Violence Project is to elevate the status of South Asian women by engaging societies to reject violence and foster respect for all people. The Harvard Gender Violence Project (HGVP) is a collaboration between The Mittal Institute, Harvard Law School, Harvard Business School, and the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, and regional experts working in the area of gender violence prevention and intervention programs.
